Pasokan air ke Perusahaan Umum Daerah (Perumda) Tirtawening yang semula 1.500 liter per detik kini tinggal 500 liter per detik. Menurut Direktur Utama Perumda Tirtawening Bandung, Sonny Salimi berkurangnya pasokan air disebabkan air baku dari Situ Cipanunjang dan Situ Cileunca di Pangalengan, Kabupaten Bandung, surut akibat kemarau dan dampak El Nino.

Sonny Salimi minta kepada warga khususnya pelanggan air bersih untuk maklum jika pasokan air terganggu dalam sebulan terakhir ini. “Berkurangnya pasokan air dari dua situ di Pangalengan, Kabupaten Bandung sudah pasti aliran air ke 171 ribu pelanggan terganggu apalagi pelanggan bagian timur dan selatan sangat terganggu,” ujar Sonny Salimi saat meninjau Situ Cipanunjang, Jumat sore (25/8/2023).

Sonny Salimi berharap hujan segera datang karena jika tak hujan setiap hari, volume air Situ Cipanunjang menurun 37 cm per hari sedangkan air di Situ Cileunca turun 2,5 cm. “Kami berusaha untuk menambah produksi air dari Sungai Cikapundung tapi sangat terbatas karena kemarau, sebulan terakhir ini pasokan air tinggal 30 persen,,” ujarnya.

Sonny minta kepada warga agar hemat air dan bijak menggunakan hanya untuk yang urgen saja minum dan masak. Sonny mengatakan dalam sebulan terakhir banyak komplen air tidak ngalir khususnya daerah Antapani, Arcamanik, Buah Batu, Riung Bandung, dan wilayah selatan serta timur. Untuk melayani pelanggan kami siapkan air tangki namun harus berkelompok minimal 10 sampai 20 pelanggan. “Kami siapkan 24 unit tangki untuk pelanggan yang airnya tidak mengalir,” ujarnya.

Menurut Sonny bagian timur dan selatan tak bisa mendapat air lewati pipa karena produksi air kini hanya 500 liter per detik  sedangkan saat normal 1.500 per detik  berarti kehilangan 1.000 liter per detik artinya 100 ribu pelanggan  terganggu. Sonny Salimi mengaku sedih, kecewa dan menyesal berkurangnya pasokan air sampai 70 persen . “Kondisi ini harus diketahui warga dan memahami sehingga warga bisa bijak menggunakan air,”  ujarnya
